Unboxing the Galaxy Nexus
by admin on Dec.17, 2011, under Geek
The Galaxy Nexus has just been released in Hong Kong yesterday: 16th of December.
My old Google Nexus One was starting to fail: the power was not very responsive….
Fortunately I managed to get this new Galaxy Nexus…
The design of the box is nice; once you open it there is the phone and some accessories, I insist on some because there is almost nothing…
The charger (which can have multiple plug), earphone (I won’t even bother to try them), and a cable.
Nothing to protect it like the “pocket” we got delivered with the Nexus One.
Here is some picture of the unboxing.

Little and big brother:

I just got the phone so the review will come a little bit later.
Strange thought
by admin on Apr.22, 2009, under Uncategorized
One of me colleague decide to learn french. He found a good deal at the “Alliance Francaise” and started last week.
On Monday morning it was really funny to hear him trying to pronounce “quatre”. During the afternoon he reports me that his professor told him that french people don’t shower; instead we only use perfume to smell good… He was very surprised, I suppose that the last time his professor came to France was during Louis XIV period… !!!!
Also if you listen to his professor, in France boys and girls showers together at school when we don’t use perfume…… To continue on the perfume, one of his co-student reports that the french people working with her put lot of perfume, I hope they shower sometimes !!!
I don’t even want to imagine what else is she going to teach them…

Sunday Brunch @ The Press Room
by admin on Jan.19, 2009, under A table

TVB Drama Shooting @ Sheung Wan
by admin on Jan.16, 2009, under Hong Kong

Resident of HK
by Nicolas on Dec.19, 2008, under Hong Kong
Because I’m working in HK, I need to apply for an ID.
After making an appointment online, I went to the immigration office, and I was really surprised by the efficiency of the government staff.
You just have to come with your passport then take a ticket and wait for your number to be called while you fill in a document. After 15 minutes, I had to see an clerk, she took my picture and my thumbs’ print. Then wait again for few minutes, meet an officer to check your name and thumb’s print that told me to come back in 2 weeks to get my new ID.
After two weeks, you just need to show up, and in 5 minutes you get out of the Immagration tower with your new ID.
In France where I come from, it will take you 3 weeks (and maybe even more…) and lot of administrative paper to do it…….
Someone told me that last year, the HK government re-new their ID for their entire population, in only one year…. Try to do this in France!!!!

New Cathay Pacific Eco Class
by Nicolas on Dec.18, 2008, under Hong Kong
Back from Malaysia, I was able to enjoy the new Eco class on a A330 of Cathay Pacific.
It’s much better than their 777… For me the first point it’s that you have much more space for your legs, I still have 5 cm left after seating !!!
Also the Video On Demand system was “almost” perfect, you have a selection of more than 100 movies, TV series, documentary, etc….. During a 3H30 journey, you don’t know what to choose…
But their system crash 2 times ![]()
During the reboot of their machine, I was surprised to see that it is using a Red Hat linux distribution to make it work.

by Nicolas on Dec.10, 2008, under Hong Kong
It’s been now almost 4 months I’m in HK, and it rains only few times.
Every morning the sky is blue like in the picture, it’s better than vitamin to have a good mood.
But it seems that in April/May…. it can rain for weeks

First, why I use TchaBuDuo for this blog…..
It comes from the pinyin “cha bu duo”, should be pronouced “Tcha Boo Duo”, and means “pretty much” in chinese. I used to live almost 2 years and a hald in China, Shanghai, and I use this word lot of times. I like it because it very easy to pronouce it and learn it!!!
Now I’m working in Hong Kong, this blog will be used to describe the day to day things I encounter
